The 'Stranger Things' Soundtrack Will Be Released On Cassette

It doesn’t get more retro ’80s than this.

One of the best parts about Stranger Things is its soundtrack. The cult Netflix show’s paranormal story draws heavily on classic ’80s tropes, and that’s reflected in the synth-heavy music created for it by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein. Though the music has been made available on nearly every popular format, fans of the show’s score now have a way to own it on a truly era-appropriate format: cassette tape. Lakeshore records will release this new tape version in a special package that includes a case designed to look like a VHS sleeve. If this touches you right in the nostalgia feels, then you should head to your local Urban Outfitters (where they will be exclusively available, and which outlet sells a lot of cassettes) on July 14 to pick up a copy for yourself.
