Tired Of Techno? This Video WIll Introduce You To Berlin’s Latin American Dance Scene

Berlin has become the unexpected breeding ground for club-ready tropical sounds.

The bitter chill of a Berlin winter is hardly the place you would expect the tropical sounds of Latin America  to take a foothold. But then again, the Hauptstadt is always full of musical surprises. Over the last few years, a vibrant scene of Latin American expats and avid music collectors have staked their flag in the Berlin musical landscape, adding a vibrancy and warmth to the city’s sound palette that’s usually pretty greyscale.

The result has been not only the creation of a distinct scene and community but also a fascinating fusion of Latin American musical traditions with new instrumentation, technologies and the demands of different club settings.

Featuring interviews with Dengue Dengue Dengue, Tiger’s Milk Records and Animal Chuki, it’s the perfect way to dive into a brand new musical universe and get a more diverse view of what’s happening in Berlin.
