International Music Summit, or IMS, is a three-day leadership program held in Ibiza where industry heavyweights and global artists come together to share their insight on the electronic music landscape. In a recent announcement, IMS has just expanded their program with an additional 23 speakers, contributing to a total of 93.

Among the newly released speakers is house music legend Todd “The God” Terry, whose DJ and production work was a major milestone in the development of New York’s house scene. Terry will give keynote interview on his life and career in dance music, specifically his early years in New York. Representing the new school of New York DJs, Honey Dijon—who was featuerd in TEB here—will also make it out to the island to chime in on IMS’ discussion on sexual harrassment in DJ culture.

Other key discussion topics at IMS will be the state of illegal substance use at electronic music events—and the subsequent trials of confidential drug testing at several festivals—and mental health in the professional music landscape. For those more interested in the tech and performance sides of the industry, Berklee College of Music is presenting “Realtime Video Synthesis,” a workshop that exhibits techniques for generating on-the-fly AV performance visuals

This is only the tip of the iceberg, as industry leaders from every side of the electronic music scene gather in Ibiza to weigh in on the changing industry from every direction. If you’re interested in the state of the scene and where it’s going in the future, the information presented at IMS will be crucial for understanding this increasingly complex landscape.
