What A Waste: Sewer Rave Shut Down By Police

British police kicked 200 ravers out of an active sewer.

Picture the scene: A bunch of like-minded ravers meet at a pub. Secret code words are exchanged and with anticipation running high your guide leads you to the underground location. Except when you get there you realize it’s truly underground. An underground sewer, that is.

That was the scene last weekend when British police broke up a rave in a functioning sewer. The party, in a waste drainage system at the mouth of the River Ouseburn near Newcastle, was apparently organized by students via Facebook.

A police spokesperson said, “It’s not an area that is easy to access so if anyone needed the assistance of the emergency services then they would have been in severe trouble.” Now that’s what we call some serious toilet trouble. Learn more here.
