This Friday, Kompakt is throwing a party in Cologne to celebrate the release of TOTAL 17, the latest installment in its long-running compilation series. Fans of the label turn to these releases for a curated retrospective on everything that’s happened in the Kompakt universe. This year’s edition features cuts by the likes of Danny Daze, The Orb, Laurent Garnier as well as Superpitcher, Voigt & Voigt, Juergen Paape and more. Michael Mayer, who we’ve written a lot about before, is also represented.
Considering how huge the compilation is, it’s only fitting that the label throw a correspondingly big party to coincide with the launch day. Like the compilation, it sports a mixed lineup of hometown heroes and out-of-town favorites: Gui Boratto and Danny Daze are both on the bill.
