Antony Hegarty commissioned for MoMA multimedia installation

Antony Hegarty‘s albums have always sounded like brilliant art to us; what better place to hear him then in a museum? Well, not quite. New York City’s Museum of Modern Art has commissioned the Antony & The Johnsons frontman to perform a multimedia piece on January 26th of next year. Titled Swanlights, the piece will feature tracks from its namesake album as well as a selection of hits from his previous LPs.

The performance was initially planned as a smaller installation in MoMA’s Marron Atrium, but has grown to such massive proportions that it was moved to the 6,000-capacity Radio City. The piece will feature lasers, lights and a 60-piece orchestra, and will likely sell out rather quickly. Tickets go on sale November 12, so mark your calendars!
