Hans-Peter Feldmann’s 100K Installation at the Guggenheim

Hans-Peter Feldmann's 100K Installation at the Guggenheim Wanna see what 100,000 dollar bills looks like? Last year Hans-Peter Feldmann was awarded the $100,000 Biennal Hugo Boss prize for his contributions to the contemporary art world. The 70-year-old german conceptualist who’s portfolio dates 60 years found it appropriate to create a $100,000 installation utilizing all of his prize money at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York. The bills took approximately 13 days to pin to the wall and were taken from out-of-circulation currency. The Guggenheim says Feldmann is portraying currency as mass-produced material used every day, rather than a symbol of capitalism. This well guarded exhibit is bound to become a topic of discussion amongst the art lovers visiting the exhibition, open until November 2nd, 2011.
