Kodály Method reload do-re-mi

Kodály Method reload do-re-mi Although Hungarian filmmaking is suffering from financial problems, there are a whole generation of young artists turning disadvantages into advantages and gaining attention at prestigious international festivals. An award-winning short film by director Bálint Szimler and cinematographer Marcell Rév titled Here I Am was even selected by Cannes’ Cinéfondation in 2010.

The duo’s next art project called Kodály Method began last year in cooperation with carefully selected Hungarian and international bands. In the video and short-film series they record special live performances of bands they like but instead of simple music videos this is about creative documentary making. Kodály Method connect sounds and images by combining intimate music moments with visual twists. Working together with the musicians they create a characteristic reinterpretation of each records which becomes exclusive and unique in both a visual and musical sense.

On 14th of January Kodály Method will officially begin with a mini-festival in Merlin headlined by Akkezdet Phiai, Volkova Sisters and Zagar.
