Mute Records sign Apparat

Mute Records, the label which just has become independent again via a new agreement between EMI and Daniel Miller, will release the new Apparat album this summer.

Apparat is the Berlin-based electronic musician Sascha Ring who since 1999 has ran the record label Shitkatapult together with T.Raumschmiere. Aside from being a well respected DJ, he is probably best known for his collaborations – particularly with Ellen Allien, and with Modeselektor as Moderat.

Apparat’s new material sees him move away from the big production style of Moderat to a more experimental technique, which judging by the appetizer track ‘Ash/Black Veil’ (downloadable on Mute’s soundcloud) kinda sounds like Sigur Ros meets Caribou.
