The name Julia Holter has been appearing more and more frequently on both lips and URLs, and if you’d heard any of the tracks on her upcoming LP Ekstasis you’d understand why. Moving beyond the heavy, cloaked atmosphere of her previous album Tragedy, Holter integrates pop hooks into her complex arrangements that bounce playfully through ambient, experimental and avant-garde electronics. It’s one of the most adventurous records we’ve heard in ages, and we can’t wait for the March 8th release. Fortunately, we don’t have to: the entirety of Ekstasis is now available to stream on NPR. Slip on some good headphones, lean back, and enjoy it here.
