ASMR is so popular that even Apple wants in on the action.

Not everybody is turned on by ASMR, but if you are, you know how relaxing it can be. ASMR stands for autonomous sensory meridian response, and it’s an experience caused by certain kinds of sounds—crunchy, whispery, crackly—that induces a sort of tingling euphoria in the scalp, neck and upper back.

It’s so popular, that you can now find entire YouTube channels dedicated to it (some that explore ASMR’s sexual dimensions, and some that don’t), and even pop stars like Billie Eilish and avant-garde producers like Objekt and Holly Herndon use it in their work.

Now, it seems as though Californian tech megacorp Apple wants in on the action. The company has released four high-quality ASMR videos recorded with an iPhone (and presumably a lot of high-end post-processing gear).
