Arca can now add “console opening composer” to an already striking musical resume.
Console producer Analogue commissioned the versatile musician and performer to compose the start up music for their forthcoming Sega Genesis clone, the Mega Sg.
Following in the footsteps of acclaimed opening sound composers like Brian Eno, Arca has composed a dreamy cadence that pays homage to the Genesis’ vintage heritage, while the piece’s glitchy texture also references the new high fidelity, 48KHz 16 bit stereo sound of the remake.
