Dasha Rush has been one of the most prominent voices in techno for over a decade, and for good reason, too. Across releases for the likes of Raster and her own Fullpanda imprint, the Berlin-based sound artist and composer has brought a variety and sophistication to contemporary electronic music like few others.
To better make sense of this sprawling and rich body of work—be it churning hypnotic techno or immersive experimental works—we sat down with Rush in her Berlin studio to discuss the ideas guiding her practice. In this in-depth discussion, Rush talks us through her relation to music technology and the experience of switching the club for the stage as she prepares for the AV show Les Territoires Éphémères with longtime collaborator Stanislav Glazov and dancer/performer Valentin Tszin.
