Watch A Virtual Reality-Style Video For Octo Octa’s Newest Single
The artist was photographed thousands of times at every angle for the “Adrift” music video.
Octo Octa’s newest album, Where Are We Going?, features two remixes of her single “Adrift”—one from Dorisburg and another from Avalon Emerson. But it’s the original’s subtle buildups and moody, acid-flecked synth melodies that convey the artist’s intended themes of internal reflection and introspective escapism. “The video encapsulates those times alone,” the producer said. “It encapsulates my feelings of attempting to process what is happening around me.”
The video, which was directed by Ray McClure, stars the producer lying on the ground in an industrial setting submerged in deep red and blue lighting. The camera moves around her face and body in a 3D rendering that’s a facsimile to the virtual-reality style video projects that are becoming increasingly popular.
