The Genesis of Grimes

The other day we told you about Grimes‘ signing to the always-wonderful 4AD, who will be releasing her upcoming LP Visions on February 21st. Now we have a chance to hear a brand-new leak from the LP. ‘Genesis’ is a beautiful piece of synthpop bliss, a twinkly, bouncy beat with Claire Boucher’s sweet, indecipherable vocals layered on top. The polish on this one is in stark contrast to her earlier work, but we relish any chance to hear Boucher more clearly, and this just makes us even more excited for the debut of what may be one of our favorite records of the year. 2012 is already amazing.
