Xiu Xiu doing an unironic cover of Rihanna’s ‘Only Girl (In The World)’? The world is speaking a beautiful language today. Frontman Jamie Stewart twists the original, adds a warped Ting Tings sample, and drops his skewed, fragile vocals over a buzzing beat and soaring strings. The track is the B-side to a new 7″ limited to 1,000 copies, but this dark and earnest rework is A-side material all the way.
