10 x 4 – Sinner DC

Ever since hearing their recent LP Endless Valley, we’ve had our ears on Geneva-based electronic duo Sinner DC. Their well-crafted noise-pop is on repeat in our offices, so when their label sent us their newsletter, we replied that we wanted to get a bit more personal…but not too personal; we’re just getting to know each other, after all! This seems like the perfect situation for a 10 x 4! Find out more below, and be sure to check out Endless Valley (it’s via Mental Groove, FYI).

1. Your most memorable show?
Whichever one comes next… we always look ahead !

2. Raging or chilling out?
Living in a very chilled-out country makes us feel like raging.

3. Should music be free?
It’s a fact that music is pretty much free nowadays, if you know where to look. Maybe we could tax the computer manufacturers and redistribute this money to the artists instead of punishing the people that download music for free.

4. What defines your music-making process?
Process? A mystery—we’re guided by voices every time, a magic moment that we don’t want to analyze.

5. Name three essential artists.
Sonic Boom , Ennio Morricone , Donato Dozzy.

6. A film or book that greatly influenced your music?
For this album, the first 15 minutes of the original 1968 version of Planet of The Apes… check it ! It has also influenced the visuals of the video we did for ‘Endless Valley’.

7. Your current favorite song?
Not a very new song, but the Juan Atkins remix of ‘Mantis’ by Psychic Ills is really amazing.

8. Do you believe in the paranormal?
We try not to believe in the normal.

9. Are you interested in politics?
The sound of a guitar is already politics!

10. Together, or alone?
Better alone and wanting to be together than being together and wanting to be alone.
