Last years’ Hypermotion B EP showed FUNERALS at their clubbiest, pounding peak-hour tech-bass for post-grave raves. Now the Ohio duo of Mollie Wells and Casey Immel-Brown are dropping five fresh remixes of EP cut “Boo Sra”, featuring a grinding new version from Deathface (whose “Six Feet Deep” collaboration with LIL INTERNET recently received a Juggalo-laden video treatment), luscious organic beats via Druid Cloak, Montreal two-stepper Hissy Fit, and some funky French bass from MikiX The Cat. Not only is it guaranteed to satisfy most sorts of dance-craze itches, it’s also available as a free download via Mishka’s bandcamp.
Below you’ll find the premiere of FUNERALS’ own gasping remix of “Boo Sra”, a minimalist affair that soon becomes maximal and what Wells describes as “sort of a preview of the direction we’re going with this year’s releases.” Below that, a five minute sample of each of the remixes. If you like what you hear (and we think you will) head over to that bandcamp and pick it up now.
