Danceteria is back

Danceteria is back The not so new any more UK Bass/House happy fest Danceteria is back with English producer Drop/Dead.

It’s Jay Donaldson’s first visit to Vienna, which is not much of a miracle since he started making music as Drop/Dead only two years ago. Since then he became one of the most promising new producers in old Albion, and like most other artists, who make interesting music, it’s hard to define his genre: He transcendences somewhere between techno and house, dubstep and RnB.

In other news: there is a new resident DJ along with old-established Mr. Ho at Danceteria. His name is Yannick Kurzweil aka Jay Smoo, he comes from Grazer crew Disko404 and he gives you what his name promises: a lot of kurzweil (German for amusement).

With Drop/Dead, Mr. Ho and many more

Scuba’s dubstep days are long gone

Scuba's dubstep days are long gone After dubstep turned into a Benny Benassi nightmare, we got confused. What to call Paul Rose aka SCUBA’s musical style after he moved to Berlin and became a Berghain regular? Is Back to the Future Garage the right name for the genre? Should we call it Midget House? Is it still dubstep? The only thing we know for sure is that the Hotflush label boss makes exceptional music and that it’s a good thing to go beyond genre lines. Rose will finally make his way to Vienna on Friday, giving fans the opportunity to hear one of his long sets that don’t end until dawn.

Go check it out at Danceteria #2 at Fluc featuring

Catz & Dogz are coming to Vienna

Catz & Dogz are coming to Vienna Formerly known as 3 Channels, Wojtek Taranczuk and Grzegorz Demianczuk decided that Catz & Dogz was a much better name. Previously they released music on Trapez, Crosstown Rebels, Pokerflat, Boxer, Dirtybird, Leena and their own Channels Records, with their remix of Who’s afraid of Detroit getting them lots of recognition – currently you have to pay about a hundred bucks to get the EP on the internet. No reason to be sad, if you don’t have the EP though, because this weekend you have the opportunity to see Catz & Dogz playing nice tunes at the new party series Danceteria. The party is not in New York but in Vienna. Michael Ho aka DJ Beware and head of label Klasse Recordings is the host of the party and he put together a special Danceteria mix especially for you:
