Legendary dub artist Max Romeo – man of the Iron Shirt as sampled by the Prodigy, is to feature on the next Deep Medi single – Babylon Fall by Japanese dubstep producer Goth-Trad. Romeo who famously recorded with Lee Scratch Perrry at his Black Ark Studios, features on the E.P’s title track whilst the other three cuts see Goth-Trad exploring sticky techno and chest crushing bass. A new album is expected some time in November.
Deep Medi will release a mini album of dub from Austrian producer Ulrich Troyer called Songs for William next month. Until now Troyer has concerned himself with experimental electronics, film scores and sound installations. For Deep Medi however – home to the likes of Silkie and Mala – the Austrian will explore his love for "dub music and the experimentations of pioneers such as King Tubby, Sound Dimension and Rhythm and Sound alongside the influences of Mulatu, Tony Allen and the psychedelic sounds of Selda"
The release will also be accompanied by a comic book that follows the adventures of William who is, erm a guitar pedal.
Deep Medi will release Songs for William on 25th July 2011
