Wolfram is really busy. His self-titled album featuring international superstars like Hercules & Love Affair came out earlier this year and since then the bearded guy and Apple fan has been travelling the world (he sends kisses from L.A.). However there is one party he would never miss: the Electronic Beats Festival. So it happened that lucky us were able to get down to a stunning selection of disco and house whenever one of the bands in Vienna left the stage to make room for the next one. And after his Wolfram DJ-madness we took the chance to ask him a few questions.
Favourite part of the day to create?
Method or madness?
Madness – Our House
Most influential person?
My daddy Helmut
First musical love?
My dad always played me Jean Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk….back then I was more in love with Jean Michel than with the German Robots.
One thing you cannot live with out?
One thing you would live without if you could?
Unfortunatly I hardly have those moments
You should keep secrets as secret as it gets!
A place to create?
The next chance to catch him in Vienna is this Saturday, November 26th. He will play together with his homeboy Felix the Houserat and Shit Robot at Pratersauna.
Soul Clap slinking over to The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble for a cheeky disco rub-down? Yes please. Get your paws on the Boston duo’s free download, a remix of ‘Pretend’ which is taken from Mr Machine the second album from the German trio, by clicking here. And, whilst we are the subject, why not enjoy this performance of The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble performing at the Electronic Beats Festival in Vienna earlier this year.
Earlier this month at Electronic Beats Festival Vienna, the German ‘acoustic techno’ group Brandt Brauer Frick held the audience captive with their symphonic show. We the viewer at home get an even better look as we see the musicians build up the cinematic jazzy rhythm of ‘Mi Corazon’, the hectic slapstick ‘606 and the devilish swagger that is their remix of Emika‘s ‘Pretend’, all with a craft and dedication that marks them as true musical craftsmen. Watch it below, and then download the remix. And for a full visual recap of the festival, be sure to check out our Facebook gallery!
