The Radio Sessions: Max Dax

The studio guest on tonight’s Electronic Beats On Air is someone we know very well here at Electronic Beats: our very own editor-in-chief Max Dax.

He’ll be dropping by the FluxFM studio to draw analogies between DAF, Depeche Mode, Einstürzende Neubauten and Kraftwerk, and playing tracks like Kraftwerk’s “Neonlicht”, Depeche Mode’s “Soft Touch Raw Nerve” and “Yü-Gung” by Einstürzende Neubauten. Keep those dials locked.

You can tune in to FluxFM tonight from 10 p.m. (CET). If you’re outside Germany you can, like always, head to the stream.

Miss it? You can catch up with the first hour through FluxFM’s on demand feature from Friday, while the DJ mix will be featured as a Mix of the Day later this week.

Hot Chip get out their ‘Flutes’ for new single

Seems as if there haven’t been too many changes for Hot Chip since their move from James Murphy‘s DFA Records to Domino Record Co: the band setup is still the same, their music is still floor-friendly, and the promotion of new music is still viral.

Just as DFA and The Rapture previewed their first single ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ on a turntable, Hot Chip just premiered their new single ‘Flutes’ in video form, showing flicks from the recording studio.

‘Flutes’ is the first track off their upcoming album In Our Heads, produced by Hot Chip themselves and Mark Ralph in London, out on Domino on June 11th. ‘Flutes’ is a straightforward electro-pop-meets-rave-gem, which may not sound too muscley in this YouTube clip below, but is much more bold and deep in the final version (we had the chance to preview this :-p ).

In case you can’t wait for Hot Chip’s fifth album, we’d recommend you to tune into tonight’s Radio Sessions – Electronic Beats on FluxFM, where Joe Goddard will be talking about his side project The 2 Bears as well as playing a dj set. Our show starts at 10pm GMT+1, find more information here, listen to the FluxFM live stream here.

The Radio Sessions – Electronic Beats On Air with Lindstrøm on FluxFM

Two hours of airtime may sound like quite a lot of time, but for an artist such as Hans-Peter Lindstrøm, 120 minutes might just be a warm-up.

The Norwegian cosmic disco, prog rock, house, and funk influenced artist will be joining us at The Radio Sessions – Electronic Beats on FluxFM this Thursday, and we’re pretty much excited what Lindstrøm has in store for us – given that his sets are epic in terms of sound and time.

Having released his latest album Six Cups of Rebel on Smalltown Supersound a couple of weeks ago, Lindstrøm will first off be answering our questions on the record, his production techniques and personal background, to be followed by Lindstrøm in the mix. Most recently, Lindstrøm announced new remixes by Owen Pallett (also known as Final Fantasy), Rub N Tug, and Oneohtrix Point Never for the song ‘Quiet Place to Live’ – keep your ears open for these during the mix. Also, we’ll premiering the brand new extended disco version of ‘Quiet Place to Live’ during the radio session!

You can listen to the whole radio show with Lindstrøm on Thursday, March 8th via FluxFM, starting at 10pm (GMT+1) – tune into FluxFM via terrestial radio or via live stream (worldwide).

A rerun of the show’s first hour will be available on demand on FluxFM’s website from Friday, March 9th, with the dj mix following a couple of days later on ElectronicBeats.net. The Radio Sessions is a weekly show so make sure to tune in on March 15th when Joe Goddard will be joining us at the studio with his Two Bears project. Also check out & listen to our previous Radio Sessions.

You can listen to the whole radio show with Mouse On Mars on Thursday, March 1st via FluxFM, Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma will be playing songs off Parastrophics, which was ust released on Monkeytown Records. The show starts at 10pm (GMT+1), you can tune into FluxFM via terrestial radio or via live stream (worldwide).

A rerun of the show’s first hour will be available on demand on FluxFM’s website from Friday, March 2nd, with the dj mix following a couple of days later on ElectronicBeats.net.
