While the mind-blowing first release from the relatively young label Luv Shack Records is still number one on the Deep House charts at several online record stores, we are happy to present to you what’s going to be LUV002 – available on vinyl March 30th, 2012 and a bit later in mid-April as a digital download.
The guys around Simon Lebon and his crew continue to do what they do best: releasing some of the finest house tracks this country has to offer. And once again, all tracks are mastered at Patrick Pulsinger’s studio. But have a listen for yourself, and when you end up luving it, do the Rock’n’Roll thing and pay for the shit!
A1. LeSale – On The Beach
A2. Burnin Tears – How I Feel
B1. Jakobin & Domino – Struggle
B2. Lee Stevens – Reapers Of Luv
Is February Austrian Awareness Month? It is if you’re in Pratersauna! The guys from the Austria club have dedicated all of February to local club music. That means for one moth every artist playing at the club is rooted in Austria, no matter which nationality his passport shows. This is a nice way to say “Fuck you “ to nationalism on the one hand, and on the other hand a good thing when it comes to the ecological footprint. But we already proved the point in the last few weeks, when we did short interviews and features on Wolfram, Herb Piper, Ken Hayakawa, Makossa & Megablast, Dorian Concept, Ogris Debris, Elektro Guzzi, Luv Shack Records and many more.
If you’re in Austria during the next three weeks, you should definitely pay the Pratersauna a visit!
We just got informed that Shackleton had to cancel his gig due to an illness in his family. We wish him and his family all the best.
This is the official statement:
We have to inform you, with great sorrow in hearts, that the planned live-act from Shackleton for Friday the 20th of Jan is cancelled due to an illness in the family. We are truely sorry as we, as no doubt you also, were really looking forward to this night. We will be bringing him to Vienna this year for sure so keep your ears/eyes open. [:(] and wish him and his family all the best.
As ersatz for all of us we have got the one and only Franjazzco formerly known as (Franz ‘Jazzin’ Otto) on the decks spinning us some bass heavy Juke and we hope, dispite the disappointment, that you all manage to find your way to our evening as the local DJs also rock the house. Entrance is 6 euro instead of 10.
Before the guys from Luv Shack Records formed their own label, they earned their spurs organizing great parties. You can get proof of that this Friday, when they host another one of their well-known The Usual Suspects nights at Fluc with special guest Sam Shackleton.
They have invited their own personal Keyser Söze (and maybe Jesus) for the third time and there is not the slightest sign of boredom in our reaction. Actually it’s the opposite. Sam Shackleton is one of these very special 21st century artists who no longer care about genres. Like many others he started in dubstep when forming the label Skull Disco in 2005 but has since moved on.
Special support will come from Mike Polarny, a great DJ who we’ve already introduced at the Electronic Beats Festival in Warsaw a few months ago, where he played a warm-up set for Wiley. Of course the Usual Suspects residents Slack Hippy and Simon Lebon will be there too.

Friday, January 20th 2012, Fluc Vienna
After some tough and pretty boring years you can feel the wind of change in Vienna (I will try to keep further Scorpions references to an absolute minimum). No more easy listening, no more down-tempo and certainly no more harmless elevator music that seems to be the credo of numerous young producers, Djs and other unadventurous characters.
Schönbrunner Perlen already proved in 2011 that organizing some of the town’s best parties is a great vantage point for forming a label and the crew around Simon Lebon have the same intention. Luv Shack Records is the name of their new baby and every single one song of their four track EP sounds like these guys are more than able to keep their promises. The decision to feature not only one or two but four different artists makes it even better and so LUV001 covers a wide range of electronic music styles. And last but not least they don’t burn all the bridges to the past, which is a good thing in this case: all the tracks are mastered by Patrick Pulsinger in his studio. Long live the Chef!
And here is the video to the first track:
