This is ‘Tapes & Money’ off the upcoming debut album from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs aka TEED, and it is unmistakably a classic track with all the bass whomps and pensive vocals. Unfortunately, the album won’t be released before April, so it looks like we will have to run the track below on repeat. If you haven’t already done so, check out their earlier works Garden EP, Trouble EP and more. It’s all very addicting.
Still another three weeks until the release of Zomby’s new album Dedication. What a bummer, especially since a shortened version of the album’s been floating around the EB office for a couple of weeks and we’re as eager to get our hands on the record as you are.
However don’t fear as in the meantime Zomby’s label 4AD brings us a third cut from the album. Following the release of the Panda Bear-flavored ‘Things Fall Apart’ and last year’s ‘Natalia’s Song’, they’re now giving away ‘A Devil Lay Here’. A moody workout that sounds like something you might hear ‘playing Super Nintendo in the temple of the last boss, dark and sinister‘, as we wrote in our recent review of the album. The best thing? You can stream or download the track via the embedded player below in both mp3 and wav format – without the hassle of signing up to a newsletter.
In related news: ‘A Devil Lay Here’ is also available as a 7" heavyweight vinyl with the b-side carrying the downtempo piano, synth and strings track ‘Basquiat’. Get your hands on this as quickly as you can since it’s no doubt going to sell out very quickly.
Dedication will be released on July 11th, and Zomby is playing a bunch of shows throughout the year in the USA and Europe.
