Crystal Castles announce new LP

Crystal Castles‘ 2010 sophomore release was something of a grower for us. We had to get over our expectations and realize that Alice Glass and Ethan Kath had evolved from their days of fistfucking Atari destruction. Instead, we were given throbbing, industrial-influenced electronic dance steeped in bleakness, with tracks like ‘Celestica’ trading more on pop than punk. It worked, though: the album remains one of our favorites of the year. Kath recently announced in an NME interview that the duo would be recording a new LP in Warsaw, to be released this summer. We were already praying for an end to winter; now we have an even better reason. We’re spending the afternoon reliving CC Memories, such as their fantastic Robert Smith collaboration ‘Not In Love’ and the under-appreciated thrasher ‘Doe Deer’. Join us!
