Videodrome #41 – This week’s best videos

Hey Videodrome lovers, here’s the latest edition of our weekly music video update, with new videos from Santigold, Dapayk & Padberg, ZZT, Jessie Ware, Pixelord and many more. Have fun:

#1 Santigold – Disparate Youth (dir.?)

I am with Santi: “No one wants to be real anymore. Wikipedia is always wrong. No one fact checks and it’s not even a priority. Reality TV is more popular than ever, and it’s the fakest thing ever. Where is there place for truth in all of that? My record is called Master of My Make-Believe because I want it to be about creating your own reality.”

#2 Pixelord – Keramika (directed by Alex Sky)

I’m sorry, but stop whatever you’re doing and watch this right away. Taken from Pixelord’s long-awaited Keramika EP, out now.

#3 Dapayk & Padberg – Backyard l Fluffy Cloud (directed by Alex Forge)

Stil vor Talent‘s Niklas Worgt and Eva Padberg aka Dapayk & Padberg are set to drop their third album, entitled Sweet Nothings, enjoy this as an appetizer.

#4 Moonbootica – Our Disco Is Louder Than Yours (directed by Skinny)

NSFW. Moonbootica just released their new EP, Battle No.1. As we can expect from them, it’s huge.

#5 ZZT – Work (Gingy & Bordello Rmx) (dir.?)

Turbo Recordings has another set of remixes of ZZT’s Work and a hell of a video for Torontonian’s Gingy & Bordello’s rework, out today along with remixes by The Advent & Spiriakos and Norman Nodge.

#6 Wiley & Manga – Hottie (dir.?)

This is another banger from Roll Deep members Manga & Wiley that came out sick. You might also check out Wiley’s current album Evolve of Be Extinct here.

#7 ?????? – ??????? (directed by ????)

Just stumbled over this nice animation video, obviously made by a Japanese guy, who – according to his tumblr – has a good taste in music and art.

#8 Polica – Amongster (directed by SaKu)

Do you like close ups of nature happenings? Then this video might just be right up your alley. But this is a bit NSFW because we got some Adam and Eve business going on as well.

# 9 Hot City x LOL Boys – Hot Boys (directed by Potter & Woods)

Incredible new video for the Hot City and LOL Boys collab track ‘Hot Boys’, featuring some sick 3D animations. Gotta check this out.

#10 Hazy Mountains – Into Fire (footage from René Clair’s Entr’acte)

Hazy Mountains returns with a completed EP and ‘Into Fire‘ is another breathtaking opus from the producer. Visit Hazy Mountains’ new aptly titled EP Gold over at his Bandcamp.

#11 Jessie Ware – Running (directed by Kate Moross)

Since last year’s enormous Boiler Room appearance with Joker, Jessie is on my list. Now she’s just announced her new single ‘Running’ – and is promoting her Kate Moross-directed video.

#12 dane//close – ARAB (self-direcetd)

dane//close is a mysterious, young British (?) music producer who randomly uploaded promising tracks to his soundcloud and tumblr. You better have this guy on your radar.

#13 YACHT – Shangri-La (directed by Brandon Vedder)

The ever esoteric NYC/DFA duo YACHT just released their latest OM NAMAHA SHIVAYA video: “If we build a utopia will you come and stay, shangri-la la la la la la…”

#14 Tanlines – Brothers (directed by Weird Days)

I.N.T.E.R.A.C.T.I.V.E. In Tanlines’ video for ‘Brothers’ you’ve a 360º view of an apartment, with the option of watching it at whatever place in the room you like best. Say what? Just try it.

#15 The Cool Kids – Rush Hour Traffic (directed by Joey Garfield)

Very nice video art and animation for the latest Cool Kids video. Directed by Joey Garfield and taken from their album When Fish Ride Bicycles, now available online.

#16 Clubfeet – BrightLightsBigCity (directed by Alex Goddard)

Melbourne five-piece Clubfeet have released their new single from the highly acclaimed Gold On Gold record, coinciding with the completion of a six-part video series with Sydney-based videographer Alex Goddard.

#17 Death And Vanilla – Rituals (dir.?)

The new single for ‘Rituals‘ gets an official video. Death and Vanilla’s self-titled debut album drops March, 13th through Hands in the Dark.

#18 Crystal Castles – Suffocation (directed by Ethan Kath)

Old tune? New video? Fashion video? Whatever, Alice Glass and Ethan Kath are nothing but the definition of badass.

#19 Metamono – XeF4 (dir.?)

If you’re into gerontology or geriatrics, then all you need is to turn to classic, grand scale theories of human development or simply watch this video from manifesto-driven music manipulators Metamono.
