The Radio Sessions: Oliver Deutschmann

This week we welcome esteemed producer and DJ of note Oliver Deutschmann into the FluxFM studio for another edition of Electronic Beats On Air.

The Berlin resident and techno purist will be discussing his new album Out of the Dark, released through Vidab Records, and introducing some of his latest releases on Scottish label Soma. He’ll also be discussing how he came up in hardcore and his background as a teenage rebel. Well, we expected nothing less.

The mix for in the second hour of the show was recorded live at Super Zero Festival Singapore on April 13, 2013. To hear the show, tune in to FluxFM tonight from 10 p.m. (CET). If you’re outside Germany you can, like always, head to the stream.

Miss it? You can catch up with the first hour through FluxFM’s on demand feature from Friday, while the DJ mix will be featured as a Mix of the Day later this week.

The Radio Sessions: Max Dax

The studio guest on tonight’s Electronic Beats On Air is someone we know very well here at Electronic Beats: our very own editor-in-chief Max Dax.

He’ll be dropping by the FluxFM studio to draw analogies between DAF, Depeche Mode, Einstürzende Neubauten and Kraftwerk, and playing tracks like Kraftwerk’s “Neonlicht”, Depeche Mode’s “Soft Touch Raw Nerve” and “Yü-Gung” by Einstürzende Neubauten. Keep those dials locked.

You can tune in to FluxFM tonight from 10 p.m. (CET). If you’re outside Germany you can, like always, head to the stream.

The Radio Sessions: Daniel Steinberg

Daniel Steinberg is the studio guest on this week’s edition of Electronic Beats On Air. Steinberg began releasing records in the mid-noughties, developing his strain of swung minimal techno in a crowded market. It’s a sound he’s remained loyal to, albeit refining and perfecting it over the years. 2012 saw his aptly titled Joy & Happiness EP released through the Arms & Legs label—the soaring samples and disco inflection a dry run for his new Treptow LP. He’ll be discussing the record with Mathias as well as providing an hour long mix for the show’s second hour.

The show goes out on air tonight at 10 p.m. (CET) via Berlin’s FluxFM. If you live outside Germany you can, as always head to the live stream.

Miss it? You can catch up with the first hour through FluxFM’s on demand feature from Friday, while the DJ mix will be featured as a Mix of the Day later this week.

The Radio Sessions: Aera

Another week, another excellent edition of Electronic Beats On Air gracing the airwaves. Tune into FluxFM tonight from 10 p.m. (CET) and you’ll be met with Berlin-based producer, DJ and head of Aleph Records Aera, who took to the FluxFM studios to chat to Mathias Weck. He’ll be talking about his recent travels through South America, how they fed into his startling debut Offseason Traveller and introducing listeners to Argentinian composer Gustavo Santaolalla and Spanish electro bod Pional. The second hour of the show will be dedicated to an hour-long mix from Aera’s vaults.

Remember if you live outside of Germany you can head to the live stream.

The Radio Sessions: Egokind

This week we welcome Egokind into the FluxFM studio for another edition of Electronic Beats On Air. Currently studying audio design, the 22 year old (real name: Jan Hammele) has already attracted attention in the University of Real Life—playing to large crowds at some of the city’s most established clubs with his richly textured, anything goes brand of techno. It’s a sound that, according to the producer, employs “Robot wasps, bubbling, lots of noise and of course fluffy 8-bit synths”.

He’ll be introducing listeners to his new project St Noise for the first time on German radio. Not the sort of guy to limit himself to one style, this is his channel for the music he makes which falls outside the remit of 4/4 dance music.

Tune in to FluxFM tonight from 10 p.m. (CET). If you’re outside Germany you can, like always, head to the stream.

Miss it? You can catch up with the first hour through FluxFM’s on demand feature from Friday, while the DJ mix will be featured as a Mix of the Day later this week.
