Taking place at Millenáris Teatrum, we’ve got some prime names for you this year. Heating up the night will be headliner Spanish DJ and producer John Talabot—one of the universally-agreed-upon leading names in house music—bringing pure electronic magic with his live set. Talabot didn’t get voted one of our readers’ top 2012 picks for nothing—if you haven’t seen him, here’s your chance to see why. French duo Nôze have plenty of electro-bangers for storming the dancefloor. Their work as remixers for the stars is only a fraction of what they’re capable of, and their live set in Budapest will showcase their clever mix of songs and dance flavor. After a breakout year with the success of her album True Romance, British singer-songwriter Charli XCX (whose recommendation of the new Major Lazer album is featured in the latest issue of Electronic Beats Magazine—available now! – Ed.) will be performing as one of the headliners for the evening, and we’re very much looking forward to hearing the live versions of her beautifully melodramatic electro-pop. Joining her will be Washed Out, and anyone who’s heard the Macon, Georgia-born artist’s sophomore album Paracosm will know Ernest Greene is more than a buzzword like “chillwave”. Packed with beautiful sounds and summery vibes, Washed Out is just the thing for those who might be missing summer once the festival rolls around.

Mano Le Tough is a name you’ve almost certainly heard of before.
The Berlin-based, Irish-born producer and DJ—known as Niall Mannon to his folks—has steadily built up a following with his productions released through labels such as Buzzin’ Fly and the excellent Permanent Vacation and his Passion Beat parties held at Berlin’s Loftus Hall. On tonight’s Electronic Beats On Air, he’ll be speaking to FluxFM host Mathias Weck about his forthcoming longplayer Changing Days and introducing us to the likes of Baikal and New Jackson who are part of the roster of his own label Maeve. He’ll also be talking about his experience remixing Roisin Murphy‘s “Simulation” and his musical partnership with John Talabot. The second hour will feature a mix from Mannon’s recent DJ gig at Berghain.
Tune in to FluxFM tonight from 10 p.m. (CET). If you’re outside Germany you can, like always, head to the stream.
Miss it? You can catch up with the first hour through FluxFM’s on demand feature from Friday, while the DJ mix will be featured as a Mix of the Day later this week.
You might have been wondering about that ‘special guest’ we’ve been announcing two weeks ago for our upcoming Electronic Beats Festival Vienna 2012. Back then, things were already seething in the background, but unfortunately we haven’t been able to tell you (until now!) that James Blake will be joining Electronic Beats once again.
Following his performance at EB Festival Gdansk in April, Blake will be performing live once again, this time at Vienna’s Arena. This is a night we’ve been very much looking forward to anyway, but now we can reveal that James Blake will be premiering new songs and material during his live show on October 12th, 2012.
The young British artist and producer is in the midst of recording his sophomore album, and you’ll be able to be amongst the first to hear them. Besides that, our festival will be one of Blake’s few live shows scheduled for this fall.
Also new on the bill: EB resident Wolfram! Get your tickets now; it’s only 19€ only (plus ticket fees) for James Blake, Hudson Mohawke, I Heart Sharks, and more, and that’s a damn good deal in any country.

It’s a cold day so time for some sunny house beats. Tonight we’re being warmed up by Barcelona based producer John Talabot who’s just announced the release of his 11-track debut LP, ƒIN which is out February via Permanent Vacation. So tonight, you better stay at home and turn on FLUX.FM to listen to John Talabot’s exclusive Electronic Beats Radio Session at 10pm (GMT+1).
And in the meantime, take a listen to what Talabot released today via his Soundcloud: it’s the second single from ƒin, ‘Destiny’ which also features a collaboration with Pional.
Has it been two years already? Two years since Toronto dance quartet Azari & III unleashed their modern club anthems ‘Reckless (With Your Love)’ and ‘Hungry for the Power’ via Permanent Vacation Records. Two years since producers Alphonse Lanza and Christian Farley with performers Fritz Helder and Cedric Gasiada gave their reinterpretation of classic New York City disco and Chicago house to the dancefloor.
It’s really been two years now, and Azari & III have been finishing up their highly anticipated selft-titled album. And while recalling famous tracks by Frankie Knuckles or Jaydee, the foursome took their music from the turntables’ to the stage as live performers too. Following up on a higly successful spring tour, we’re very pleased to be co-hosting their upcoming tour this fall: Electronic Beats Recommends Azari & III Live – simple is that.
Joining as support will be the not less than brilliant Danish band When Saints Go Machine — so you’ll better get ready for the upcoming extravaganza. And since we’re eager to see you down-the-line, you can win tickets too! Fill in the form below and win one pair of tickets for each of the tour’s stops. And here’s the cherry on the cake: one contestant for every city will also win a copy of Azari & III’s debut album.
