Russian born Nika Roza Danilova’s stage pseudonym Zola Jesus combines hints to Jesus and the French writer Emile Zola, while musically refering to a dark incarnation of Diamanda Galás. Following up on her earlier albums, ‘The Spoils’ and ‘Stridulum II’ with her most recent record ‘Conatus’ with its dark pop music approach, a mixtape with Prefuse 73 as well as a joint tour with Fever Ray, Zola Jesus rapidly became one of the most interesting phenomenas within the independent scene in recent years. EB Video Premiere: Zola Jesus – Seekir

It’s fitting that the opening image of Zola Jesus‘ new video for ‘Seekir’ is a shot of blossoming light, for we’ve witnessed the singer bloom from out of the shadows of her noisy beginnings. Former Ghosts and Josef Bolf: in the name of art and music

Josef Bolf is one of the most respected mid-generation artists in the Czech Republic. His uncanny characters, sometimes half-animals, inhabit a post-apocalyptic world devoid of hope and redemption.
