Arca Due to Perform at Halle Am Berghain This September

The experimental artist will perform within the immersive A/V exhibition of BERL-BERL

Tentatively announced on the BERL-BERL exhibition program for the 21st of September, Arca is now scheduled for a yet-to-be-confirmed date next month.

Blending storytelling and scientific research with state-of-the-art gaming and VR tools, BERL-BERL offers a new perception of our ecological landscapes. Created by Jakob Kudsk Steensen and commissioned by Light Art Space, the immersive A/V show aims to restore our bonds with the environment and attune our perception of landscapes. The multi-screen installation explores the mythical slavic roots of swamps of the Brandenburg region, effectively transforming Halle am Berghain into a vast collage of natural worlds.

Amplified by a custom-built sound system, Arca’s vocals haunt the show’s soundtrack by composer Matt McCorkle and spatial sound designer Lugh O’Neil, subliming the minute field recordings that recreate a fully immersive, organic and constantly evolving sonic world, thanks to generative audio techniques.

The dreamy universe of BERL-BERL can also be explored online on BerlBerl.world.
