John Murphy was one of underground music’s pioneering figures, with a resume under his belt that included an absurd amount of incredible post-punk, industrial and experimental names—Current 93, Lustmord, SPK, Of The Wand & The Moon, Whitehouse, Death In June…we could easily spend a week listening to nothing but favorite albums featuring John.
Sadly, he passed away October 11th, and in the wake of this passing a mass of tributes have taken place. Berlin’s Radio Rixdorf, located in the heart of Neukölln’s art scene Sameheads, recently had a lovely broadcast tribute—and you can listen to it above.
Rest in piece, John—your art lives on.
