Ryuichi Sakamoto & Alva Noto Nominated for Golden Globes

Raster-Noton founder Carsten Nicolai (AKA Alva Noto) has been nominated for a Golden Globe, along with longtime collaborator Ryuichi Sakamoto of Yellow Magic Orchestra and Bryce Dessner of indie behemoths The National. The three teamed up to write the original score for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s feature film The Revenant, which earned a total of four nominations at the gala. The score was performed by the 25-piece Berlin-based orchestra known as s t a r g a z e under conductor André de Ridder. The digital release of the soundtrack will be available December 25, and a vinyl version was announced for April 2016 via Milan Records.
