Schranz is the name given to a style of fast, loopy techno that was all the rage 20 years ago in clubs all over Germany. Artists such as Adam Beyer, Two Lone Swordsman and Psykofuk all released tracks that fitted the sparse, breakbeat style. One of the leading schranz DJs was Chris Liebing, an artist whose reputation today owes a lot to his early years spinning this sound at Frankfurt’s Omen club. Want to hear some for yourself?
