Trans Femme Abolitionist Elysia Crampton Lines Up Two LPs

Los Angeles/La Paz-based artist Elysia Crampton has inked a contract with Stateside label Break World to release two albums in the near future. Though details are still shady, the first outing will feature Why Be, Rabit, Chino Amobi, Lexxi and Total Freedom.

“My first release will include these friends and work as a sort of quantum-twin to the play/DJ production I’ll be showcasing this year,” she told Thump. “‘Dissolution of The Sovereign: A Time Slide Into The Future,’ a spiral that attempts to bridge the oral traditions of a queer andean past/aymara theater legacy with the sonic gestures of a trans femme abolitionist’s notion of futurity—always amidst the cataclysmic, irreducible horizon of coloniality.” Watch out for more details, and listen back to a recent remix Crampton produced—which doubled as a clarion call for trans recognition and rights—here.
