Get ready for a new film from the English artist.
FKA twigs has turned her weeklong residency at the Manchester International Festival, Soundtrack 7, into 52-minute long film that will premiere August 3 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).
Her performances at Manchester’s Old Granada Studios involved choreographing and filming a different dance piece on each of the seven days, and the long cut includes footage from those sessions soundtracked to twigs favorites like “How’s That” and recent outing “Good To Love”. The premiere will be bookended by a screening of a twigs-directed short with cuts from her 2015 EP M3LL155X before (we’re not sure if it’s the same as this one) and a Q&A with the avant singer-songwriter-director-dancer after.
