Gorillaz Release All Female Mix In Anticipation Of New Album

Noodle, the group’s guitarist, has compiled a half-hour mixtape of powerful female songwriters. 

The anticipation for Gorillaz’s new album just keeps on building. That’s in no small part due to the constant stream of cool new mixes and stories coming from the group. Following on from bass player Murdoc’s “Dirty Santa” Playlist released just before Christmas, the band’s guitarist, Noodle, has dropped a 30 minute mix on her SoundCloud page that celebrates true female “pioneers in the writing, production and creation of MUSIC.” The mix features leading female figures in music from past to present. It places vanguard electronic music composers Delia Derbyshire and Laurie Anderson alongside Fatima Al Quadiri and Grimes. Give it a listen below. Check further for the tracklist.
