Hear The Beastie Boys Remixed Using Only Daft Punk Samples
A decidedly French twist on an American classic.
Daft Punk have never been ones to shy away from a collaboration, but we doubt they ever had this kind of mash-up in mind. A producer named “Coins” has remixed a handful of old Beastie Boys classics—such as “Root Down”, “Check It Out” and “Body Movin'”—using only Daft Punk samples. Talk about self-imposed creative restrictions. The eight-track record must have resonated with some Daft Punk fans, because the album made a splash on Daft Punk’s Reddit page, and it’s been blowing up ever since.
