Kode 9’s Nothing absolves nothingness from its nihilist stigmata, while still making an ultimate statement about death and the extinction of the human race. In this brief talk, Steve Goodman explains the concept of “Nothing” during BBC’s three minute epiphany series hosted by Mary Anne Hobbs. The exposé covers outrageous mathematical facts such as zero being the the twin of infinity and the void being filled with tremendous invisible (yet powerful) energies.
We looked up the twin of infinity metaphor, and it makes full sense in the overall algebra of the album, since the summation of all numbers is zero, known as equilibrium—akin to positive infinity—and the absence of all numbers is still zero, known as the void, akin to negative infinity.
