We love it when a group can take a cover and make it their own. We love Prayers, too. The San Diego group have risen to prominence this year with their unique combination of authentic Chicano gang life and goth aesthetics. It’s not the most immediately obvious pairing, but when you’ve been listening to Gucci Mane and Bauhaus as long as we have, it starts to make sense. Now the duo have transformed the Pet Shop Boys classic “West End Girls” into a pounding slice of darkness, featuring deathrockers and black-nailed thugs breaking into a cemetery to draw tarot and make out. Summer love! Watch the video on your right, and read a revealing new interview over on Noisey.
