Be careful when buying vinyl from secondhand sellers.

In what’s being called one of the biggest raids on pirated music in Europe ever, police have seized a massive load of over two million pieces of contraband that includes CDs, DVDs and vinyl records. A 60-year-old man living near Stuttgart has been arrested on the suspicion of using pressing plants in Germany and Poland to create and sell counterfeit LPs on the secondhand market. Remarkably, it means vinyl’s previously niche status in the music industry has come full circle—it is now popular enough to be pirated.
