Listen To A Brilliant Unreleased Prince Song

“Moonbeam Levels” was released this week for the first time as part of the Prince 4Ever compilation.

When Prince died in April this year, there was a lot of excited chatter about how the “vaults” of unreleased music in his Paisley Park compound would finally see the light of day. The unveiling process finally started November 22, when ABC News debuted “Moonbeam Levels” via livestream to promote a new compilation of 40 greatest hits titled Prince 4Ever. Prince first recorded the track in 1982 while working on his album 1999, but he ultimately decided against releasing it—so it’s a treat to finally hear the ballad now. It starts about 45 seconds into the video here.
