This owl is not what it seems.

This owl is, in fact, a theremin. This should come as no surprise considering that its creator is David Cranmer, the man behind the infamous Badgermin, which is also a theremin.

The owl theremin is quite a bit more advanced than its predecessor. The namesake owl is rigged up with a motor that allows it to peek out of a large tree trunk. It provides for an impressive visual display that’s sure to make your theremin performances even more spectacularly weird. Watch a video of this wonderous instrument in action above.
