Marcel Dettmann, Shed, Rødhåd in Berlin-themed exhibition in Rio
While the creative conditions prevailing after the fall of the Wall have changed dramatically in recent years, Zeitgeist is a new exhibition running in Rio de Janeiro that presents the spirit of ’90s Berlin club and art culture as “roadmaps for the art of new Berlin.” Opening on October 21 and closing January 11, the exhibition features a new audio work from Marcel Dettmann and a “specially planned soundtrack” by Answer Code Request, David August, Head High, Massimiliano Pagliara, Rødhåd and Tale Of Us. Berghain bouncer and noted photographer Sven Marquardt will present a lecture while “volunteer tattooers . . . offer their art to the public.” Meanwhile 29 artists, including Norbert Bisky, Frank Thiel and Marc Brandenburg will exhibit their works at Belo Horizonte and CCBB Rio.
