A Benefit For Lauren Bousfield
The composer, producer and former Nero’s Day At Disneyland mastermind was seriously injured in a fire.
Perhaps best known by the masses as the anthem-maker behind Pewediepie favorite “Child Protective Services Theme“, Lauren Bousfield has a long history within the West Coast weirdo electronic scene, having formed the genesis of her career of sonic mayhem in Oakland synthpunk band Beautiful Mutants and honing her skills in the equally noisy Strip Mall Seizures before birthing a new kind of violent sound with her solo project Nero’s Day At Disneyland. Her current work as Lauren Bousfield is a more beautifully baroque version of that, blending classical and sacral melodies with glitched-out electronics and crystallized aspects of her earlier breakcore elements.
On September 27th, a fire at a Los Angeles apartment building left her hospitalized with serious burns. To help with the surgeries required, friends have set up a Facebook page and GoFundMe in support of her medical bills, updated regularly with developing information. For anyone who ever loved her work, we encourage you to lend your support to a truly talented and wonderful human being.
