A new documentary from Dave Spiers called Bright Sparks trains its lens on both cool kids and electronic-music legends talking about modulars in a wacky, laid-back fashion. What’s the big deal about these machines? They’re all prepared with answers. Spiers’ light touch is a welcome change from the self-serious tone that dominates gear discussions, and as a bonus, the doc features an insane original soundtrack created by I Monster. We had an advance listen here and we’re sold.
