The Berlin techno icon has just posted the final installment in his Back to the Future mix series trilogy.
Over the past few months, Paul Kalkbrenner has been unveiling a very special mix series. Titled Back to the Future, it explores his early years in Berlin listening to techno on Radio DT64. To create these mixes he trawled YouTube to collect over 5,000 songs from the period running up to ’93. The resulting effect is a patchwork of edits and versions that create a very personal history of Kalkbrenner’s own relationship to dance music. The first two installments in the series were excellent (listen to them here and here). And now he’s back with the final chapter in the trilogy which you can listen to above.
