Soundcloud Strikes Deal With Universal
2015 was a turbulent year for streaming giant Soundcloud. Copious copyright takedowns turned the once-loved service into a collective scapegoat for all streaming ills. While the company did manage to get a deal with major label Warner Music in 2014, the other majors were still hesitating to join forces and invest in the future of music streaming. Now with Universal on board, Soundcloud should be able to expand its advertisements and turn a profit.
