Post-punk industrial band Swans is bringing back two of the most crucial albums in its discography: White Light from the Mouth of Infinity, first released in 1991, and Love of Life, which came out a year later. Both records contain some of the band’s most iconic songs and are due for reissue on December 4 via frontman Michael Gira’s Young God label.

In this legendary interview, which first ran in Convulsion Magazine in 1993, Gira offers insight into spirituality, capitalism and his personal life, along with insider details on the making of Love of Life. Stream the eponymous single here, and to get a better sense of Gira’s current Weltanschauung, re-read our recent interview with him here.
