Jun Togawa is a Japanese synthpop artist who writes what may be some of the best lyrics ever ascribed to a New Wave beat. The above video is “Suki Suki Daisuki”, a parody of J-Pop artists taken from the 1985 album of the same name. According to the video (which does confess to some slight mistranslation, but still) Japanese wave fans of the ’80s were met with lines like “The intuitive cognition with anti-nihilism is a trigger for latent infant violence” and “Kiss me like thumping, as blood blots on my lips.” Not exactly “Don’t You Want Me”, is it?
