Tropic of Cancer’s wondrous music is equal parts pain and pleasure—the melancholy of heartache, the glory of both love and the pain it brings. Under this alias and methodology, Camella Lobo has created some of our favorite music in the last decade. Now she has returned to once again examine human frailty with 12″ EP Stop Suffering. Appropriately set to drop in October on the unholy Blackest Ever Black, it’s the first sample of new ToC we’ve heard in two years; fortunately we won’t have so long to wait, as next year will also see a new full-length.

Premiering via NPR, “Stop Suffering” focuses on dying relationships and the vulture-like feasting of emotions that occurs between both partners as they watch something beautiful rot, together. Cover the windows, close your eyes and sink down into the depths with us. It’s beautiful here.
